About

Building from Karachi, for the world.

I'm Abdul Hannan Kashif — a software engineer and the founder of Brægn. This is the short version of how I got here, and what I care about along the way.

Portrait of Abdul Hannan Kashif

“Born and raised in Pakistan, my journey is fueled by a desire to bridge the gap between emerging local talent and global technological frontiers.”

My path so far hasn’t been defined by titles — it’s been shaped by curiosity that started early and never really let up. From my first classroom in Lower Topa through schools in Sargodha, Lahore, and Karachi, I kept circling back to the same question: how do things actually work, underneath?

That question is what led me into software engineering, and eventually into founding Brægn — an attempt to build AI systems that don’t just process data, but understand intent. I’m currently reading Software Engineering at FAST–NUCES while building Brægn alongside my studies, treating the two as one continuous education rather than separate tracks.

My heritage gives me a particular lens on resilience and resourcefulness — qualities I try to carry into every architectural decision and every strategic one. I believe the next wave of meaningful technology won’t come only from the usual hubs; it will come from people anywhere willing to build globally competitive work from where they stand. Part of what drives me is putting Pakistan more firmly on the map for serious AI research.

What I Value

A few principles that hold steady across projects.

Build from first principles

Strip a problem to its base truths before writing a single line of code.

Intentional simplicity

Embrace depth where it adds value, and simplicity everywhere else.

Quality before speed

Correctness is the foundation everything else gets built on.
